A native of Central Florida and a record-setting, local district champion high school swimmer, Duke realized a childhood dream when he embarked on the journey to become a Navy SEAL. As a kid, Duke carried an article about Navy SEALs taken from his father’s Popular Mechanics magazine.
Duke decided he would regret not trying out for BUD/S and become a SEAL himself. In 2007 he completed his training and shortly after met his wife, Julie. Operating as a sniper and breacher, Duke deployed to Afghanistan and earned multiple awards including two Navy Commendation medals, one with valor.
Just before his second deployment Brady Duke’s life changed forever and he became a father. Two kids later, Duke remained stateside on active duty and trained thousands of other SEALs before deployment for the same mission. Upon honorably separating from the Navy to focus on being a husband and father, he continued as a civilian instructor training SEALs in Close Quarters Combat.
Transitioning from the Navy, going to school for Christian Ministries, and training SWAT teams around the country, Duke went on a three-year spiritual journey growing his faith, strengthening his relationship with his wife, and understanding his irreplaceable role as a father. Brady and Julie became involved in the life changing journey of mentoring military couples and starting their own para-church ministry.
Always longing to return home, Duke moved his family back to Central Florida where he and his wife operate Intervene Ministries as he continues to train law enforcement in close quarters combat.
Today, Brady Duke is running for Congress because of the responsibility he feels toward serving his country now more than ever. Duke served our nation in combat across the globe, and he’s ready to fight for our country and Central Florida once again. He served nearly a decade defending American lives around the world, and in Congress, will fight for every life, at all stages.
Brady and Julie live in Oviedo with their five young children.
